Job Title: BIM Coordinator

Key Activities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement the BIM strategy for the organization or project.

  • Align BIM goals with project objectives and client requirements.

  • Promote innovation and digital transformation using BIM technologies.

Coordination and Collaboration

  • Ensure coordination between architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders using BIM.

  • Manage model integration, clash detection, and issue resolution.

  • Facilitate collaborative workflows and ensure model consistency.

Standards and Compliance

  • Define and enforce BIM standards, protocols, and naming conventions (e.g., ISO 19650)

  • Maintain model quality control to ensure accuracy and data integrity.

  • Create and manage BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).

Technology Oversight

  • Select and implement appropriate BIM software tools for enhancing BIM workflows

  • Oversee software integration, version control, and interoperability.

  • Evaluate and adopt emerging digital tools like VR, AR, AI, and automation in BIM.

Training and Support

  • Provide training to teams on BIM processes and tools.

  • Offer ongoing technical support and troubleshooting.

  • Cultivate a BIM culture within the organization.

Project and Data Management

  • Oversee the creation, development, and management of BIM models throughout design and construction.

  • Ensure models are updated and accurate, reflecting as-built conditions when necessary.

  • Manage the Common Data Environment (CDE) and data exchange protocols.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Document decisions, workflows, and project progress for stakeholders.

Job requirements

  1. An HNC (Higher National Diploma) or HND (Higher National Certificate) in a subject related to construction, such as civil engineering.

  2. Experience in an AEC role (many employers are looking for at least 5 years’ experience).

  3. Familiarity with the modelling process in BIM.

  4. Excellent IT skills.

  5. Great verbal and written communication skills.

  6. Extensive knowledge of quality and document management processes.

  7. B.E. in mechanical discipline

  8. More than 15+ years of experience into BIM

  9. Software’s - MS word, MS Teams, MS excel, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks AutoCAD Plant 3D, BIM 360 / ACC
