We are currently experiencing rapid growth and are looking for a strong Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our expanding Mumbai office.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with significant experience in Data Centres, Telecom Facilities, and Mission-Critical Projects. The ideal candidate should be technically strong, innovative, and capable of leading projects with minimal supervision. This role offers exposure to international projects, advanced cooling/hVAC systems, and opportunities for career growth and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in Client, Design, Contractor, and Professional Team meetings.

  • Develop concept and detailed mechanical designs, including HVAC systems, cooling solutions, and controls.

  • Prepare schematics, mechanical calculations, technical specifications, reports, and equipment schedules as per industry and regulatory standards.

  • Coordinate mechanical design with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

  • Maintain commercial and project awareness, monitoring hours against agreed fees.

  • Approve design variations and allocate hours efficiently.

  • Mentor and guide Trainees, Graduates, and Engineers; ensure accuracy and quality of their work.

  • Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, samples, and documentation.

  • Conduct site inspections, QA/QC checks, and validation of contractor installations.

  • Support testing, commissioning, and witness testing activities onsite.

  • Ensure all work meets client expectations and complies with local codes, IS/ISO standards, and international guidelines.

  • Travel to project sites within India and abroad as required.

  • Take technical lead on assigned projects with minimal management input.

  • Promote sustainable, energy-efficient mechanical engineering solutions.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Strong communication skills in English and Hindi (written & spoken).

  • 5–7 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, specifically in:

    • Data Centres

    • Telecom Facilities

    • Mission-Critical or High-Tech Buildings

  • Experience in full project lifecycle: concept → design → construction → testing & commissioning.

  • Experience working in multinational, multicultural environments.

  • Chartered Engineer (or working toward chartership) with relevant professional bodies.

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Advanced data centre cooling systems

    • Indian and international mechanical codes

    • IS & ISO standards

    • RIBA Plan of Work

  • Ability to lead technical teams, manage workload, meet deadlines, and handle problem-solving independently.

  • Proactive communicator with strong coordination and stakeholder-management skills.
