Expert Meteorology

The challenge 

As Meteorology Expert you will be responsible either as a Technical Expert or a Project Manager or both, supported by a support team for Contract Management, Integration, Stakeholder Coordination, Planning and Control. This pertains to 3 contracts: one contract for Automatic Weather Observation Stations across the country of Kuwait, a second contract for Low Level Wind Shear, Lidar and Mobile X-band radar for Kuwait International Airport and a third contract for Integrated Ground Based Remote Sensing Stations in 3 sites in Kuwait. The first 2 projects are in execution, and the last project will start soon.

The project work consists of reviewing the designs, suppliers and materials as proposed by the contractors, Factory Acceptance Tests, Site inspections and Site Acceptance Tests and Issue management and other general project management tasks.

You will be a member of the Meteorological Team reporting to the Technical Manager. During the Project execution you will liaise with the end user on a regular basis.

The team 

Deerns Airport Division focusses on the Aviation industry, usually airports, but also air navigation service providers and in the case of Kuwait also the Meteorological service providers. Deerns has a signed a long-term Project Management contract with Kuwait DGCA to deliver assets for its Air Navigation and Meteorological departments. We have a need to increase our Meteorological Team to manage the workload.

This is you 

You are an experienced professional who thrives in consultancy contracts during the construction phase – ideally with exposure to the dynamic airport environment. With a solid background in Meteorological Systems (or proven experience in this field), you bring at least 10 years of expertise, of which 5 in comparable project settings.

Armed with an academic degree, you combine technical knowledge with strong communication skills, making you a true team player who values cooperation and client engagement. You are ready for an exciting international adventure: relocating to Kuwait for approximately 1.5 years to play a key role in our projects.

Fluency in English, both spoken and written, completes your profile.
