We are looking for a commercial professional who will help us drive the growth of our global electronics business, working in the job of Business Development Manager - Electronics for the Netherlands and Germany.

As Business Development Manager Electronics, you will contribute to shaping the future of micro and nano technology, enabling the development of highly complex and increasingly amazing technology and products that impact people’s daily lives.

 

In the job of Business Development Manager Electronics for the Netherlands and Germany you will lead the commercial activities and take responsibility for the commercial results of the sector Electronics in these countries. You will be part of and contribute to an international commercial team focusing on the sector Electronics. On a day-to-day basis, you will work closely with many others at Deerns, particularly with our experts, designers, engineers, project managers and many other professionals.

 

Your responsibilities include: 

The key responsibilities of you as Business Development Manager are to lead the commercial activities and take responsibility for the commercial results of the sector Electronics. In terms of your activities, you can think of the following:

  • Lead business development efforts for the sector in Netherlands and Germany.

  • Act as a market-maker to strengthen Deerns’ position with clients and partners.

  • Determine client’s needs, gather market intelligence, identify trends, and turn them into opportunities.

  • Take ownership of opportunities from inception to signed contract, with a bid-to-win mindset.

  • Assure up-to-date and accurate forecasted revenue data, anticipate market developments.

  • Be hands-on in writing bids, defining (technical) scope of works and services, determining pricing, and assessing risk, supported by our technical experts, under time pressure.

  • Review and negotiate contracts, supported by our legal team, under time pressure.

  • Create marketing materials, advancing new services/products, supported by our marketing team.

  • Represent and promote Deerns in relevant business associations and networks.

  • Participate and take the stage in industry events that enhance Deerns' reputation and success.

 

This is you 

  • Minimum of 8 years verifiable working experience in similar commercial roles.

  • Degree qualified.

  • Proven track record of successfully developing trusted client relationships, identifying opportunities, developing proposals, and negotiating and closing contracts.

  • Experienced in the (micro) electronics market; robust understanding of client processes and drivers, of project organisations, and of the processes of stakeholders in construction projects.

  • Strong affinity with consultancy, engineering, design, technology and innovation.

  • Having an extensive decision level (international) business network in the electronics market, with owners, asset managers, investors, architects, consultants, OEM’s and other key market players.

  • Experienced in working in international context, multinational firms, and different cultures.

  • Having high ethical business standards, commercial acumen, collaborative approach, growth mindset and strategic leadership skills.

  • Strong commercial, legal and risk management acumen, experienced in bid coordination and preparation and in negotiating, closing and managing contracts.

  • Skilled in collaborating and coordinating in international, multicultural and remote working context.

  • Digital savvy using latest software and online tools, and experienced in remote collaboration

  • Proactive and persuasive communicator, fluent in Dutch, English and German.

  • Location: job based out of Netherlands.

  • Traveling internationally is part of the job, typically up to 30% on average.
